70t Sumitomo Crane going to Abu Dhabi

70t Lattice Crawler Crane is latest edition to the fleet.

Although it’s dark and gloomy in the UK, this Sumitomo SC700-2 is shipping to warmer climates in Abu Dhabi. The 70t crane is part of NRC Plant’s extensive rental fleet.  The Lattice Crawler Crane will join existing microtunnelling and construction plant in the Middle East for Joseph Gallagher International.

Working for MACE, a well established and respected company in the Middle East, Joseph Gallagher International have been contracted to undertake the installing of 24km of microtunnel in Baniyas and Shahama.

Three of the five ISEKI Microtunnelling machines from their Middle East fleet will be running concurrently, boring tunnels of varying diameter from 800mm to 2000mm.

Joseph Gallagher are pleased to announce continued growth in the Gulf Region, with the award of a key microtunnelling project for the Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC).

Joseph Gallagher have been contracted by MACE Contractors, one of the oldest and most well-respected construction companies in the United Arab Emirates, to provide specialist microtunelling services. The two-year project will use ISEKI and Herrenknecht equipment from the Joseph Gallagher microtunnelling fleet, to install 25km of new pipeline from Baniyas to Shahama. Serving local areas and communities in Abu Dhabi, the pipeline is part of longer-term plans to support population and infrastructure growth in the region.

The specialist microtunnelling systems and support equipment will install pipes varying in size from 400DN to 2000DN and at depths from five to 30 metres.

Abu Dhabi has committed to re-cycling 100% of its municipal waste water by 2019 for agricultural, forestry and golf course irrigation.
