Shaft Sinking

Shaft Sinking

Our shaft sinking capabilities mean Joseph Gallagher Middle East can construct shafts of all sizes and in all types of ground conditions. Whether that is a large segmental shaft for a pumping station or launch and reception shafts for a microtunnelling project.

We have constructed sheet piled, cassion rings, segmental and piled shafts. Shaft sizes range from 2.0m id. to 25m id. by caisson from 1.5m id. to 30m id. by underpinning. Other techniques allow significant variation on these sizes.

Shafts can be sunk under their own weight,  jacked down using a hydarulic ram, underpinned or cast insitu.
